over Alabama State after an in-house investigation revealed issues strong enough to prompt McClelland to make the move and not riskthe team's having to forfeit a championship.The NCAA's investigation marks the latest cloud that McClelland has had to confront since taking over at TSU in April 2008. The NCAA placed TSU on four years of probation in July 2008 for violations committed by the Bvlgari Titanium Quartz BL-50 and women's tennis and softball programs under the watch of former athletic director Alois Blackwell, who was relieved of his duties in February 2008. As part of the punishment, the softball team was banned from postseason play in 2009, the already-dropped tennis programs were suspended, and both programs had to forfeit wins.
