Dec. 16--BANGOR, Maine -- A former University of Maine student pleaded not guilty Thursday at the Penobscot Judicial Center to taking videos of other students showering.William D. Russell Jr., 19, of Guilford was charged with three counts of invasion of Glashutte Senator Collection GSH-36 on Nov. 1.Russell was summoned in connection with the incident after a male resident of York Hall told campus police that while in a shower stall "he looked up and saw an arm holding a black [video] camera with a silver ring on it" over the shower curtain, according to a report by campus police.
Two other men in York Hall also reported being recorded on video without Glashutte Senator Karree GSH-37 consent.When campus police confronted Russell about the alleged recording, he did not deny it, Penobscot County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy said last month. Russell also allegedly told investigators he had not downloaded the footage onto his computer or uploaded it to the Internet, but would not allow police to look at his computer.
District Court Judge E. Mary Kelly ruled that Russell may remain free on personal recognizance bail.Russell told her Thursday that he has been suspended from the university until next fall, when he may apply to be reinstated.His bail conditions include no contact Glashutte Senator Sport Collection GSH-34 the alleged victims and not being on the university campus in Orono.Russell is next scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14. If his case is not resolved then, Kelly told him, a jury is scheduled to be selected for a trial on March 7.
